Greece defeats brave Austrians

The Austrian National Team was handed a 0:3 (23:25, 19:25, 25:27)-defeat by Greece in their last European League Game on Saturday in Glyfada.

“We looked more stable today. I wanted to have a look at the younger players today and they responded by playing really well. We still make stupid mistakes in the decisive situations, because we go full force all the time. That was all expected nevertheless. We have to continue to learn, learn and learn more. I’m surprised, that we are challenging Greece, even in the away games”, said Headcoach Michael Warm after the game.

“The team has understood, how we want to play. Now we want to refine the skills and stabilise them, to also make them work under pressure. We made big strides so far. I still expect a couple of setbacks ahead of us. In the review I will praise the team for it’s efforts. They went along really well and they are still very realistic about what has to be done. After ten weeks of practice at the end of a long season they deserve a break now”, Warm summed up the European League season.
