EuroVolley Hosts

Besides Austria and the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands, France and Greece together with Bulgaria also applied for hosting the 2011 European Championships, but Austria together with the Czech Republic stood up to all rivals. 16 teams take part in the European Championships tournament; definite qualifiers in addition to the organisers Austria and the Czech Republic are also the five best teams at the European Championships in 2009: Bulgaria, France, Poland, Russia and Serbia.
This is a major step for the continued development of the Austrian national men’s team.

Wiener Stadthalle

The Wiener Stadthalle is Austria’s biggest events venue and one of the leading event locations in Europe, centrally located on the Vienna ring road. The largests of the 6 event facilities within this complex is Hall D, which provides the optimum pre-requisites for the EuroVolley 2011. Here, concerts, show acts and sports events such as the traditional Stadthalle indoor tournament, Holiday on Ice or the Festival of Horses, take place; in total, Vienna’s Stadthalle has played host to approximately 80 European and World Championships so far.
 

KV Arena
